TECHNOLOGY & THE ENVIRONMENT ....?

When we hear the word 'technology' we think of computers, phones, music devices, gaming consoles or anything to do with electronics; and generally the word 'environment' is hardly associated with technology to begin with. However, the bridge between technology and the environment are slowly becoming closely linked to one another as well-known tech companies are becoming more and more aware of how much carbon foot they are contributing towards the environment and how much damage it leaves. Companies such as Apple are one of the few who are making innovative decisions to change the world and leave it better than it is.

HOW…?

The company has taken steps into changing the way they use and create their devices to benefit the environment through:

1. Climate Change: creating new devices to become more energy- efficient and having 93% of their offices, retail stores and data centres around the world running on renewable energy.
2. Resources: by using paper more efficiently, recycling phone components as well as protecting and creating sustainable working forest to provide abundant resources for future use.
