ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION

Hey guys!! So here is some information about environmental degradation which is unaware by most of us. I guess the two words "environmental degradation" may seem to give a rough idea of what it could be all about. Well, if your guess is about environment affects onto the world and the surroundings, then your RIGHT!! Come on, lets see what is it all about.

What is environmental degradation?? 

Environmental degradation is a disintegration of the environment through consumption of resources such as air water and soil. It also causes destruction of ecosystem and extinction of wildlife. There are six causes and five effects of environmental degradation. Lets see what are they environmental degradation.

CAUSE OF ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION

1. Land Disturbance

It is a development and land disturbance permit. Resulting in soil erosion from water and wind and the movement of sediments into water and lands within the region.

2. Pollution

Introduction of contaminants into the nature that cause unfortunate and harmful change. There are three types of pollution; air pollution, water pollution and land pollution. Pollution can also derive from chemical substances or energy such as noise, heat or light. These pollutes the environment by causing damage to the living species by the air we breathe, corrupt the quality of water that is used to drink, irregular earth surface due to human activities. Whereas, the noise can damage hearing sense such as honking sounds or machines in factories or mills. 

3. Overpopulation

Rapid growth of lives, a result of longer lifespan due to lower mortality rate and better medical facilities. Increase in population means a demand of more food, clothes and shelter. Therefore, more space is needed to grow food and homes for people of millions. This results deforestation which is also a part of the cause of environmental degradation. 

4. Landfills

Disposal of waste products in the form of burying, particularly as a technique of filling in and retrieving excavated pits. The waste are induced by industries, households, factories and hospitals. Landfill can impact higher risk factor on health of people and environment in their area. It gives a very awful smell when it is burned which leads to great environmental degradation. 

5. Deforestation

Deforestation is when the trees in the forest and being removed to create an empty land. This is to build new buildings, shopping malls, houses and basically to occupy the land into a property for investments and shelters. the two main cause of deforestation are urban sprawl and rapid growth in population. Besides that, deforestation also occurs due to animal grazing, agriculture, logging and harvest of fuel wood. It interrupts the process of oxygen from plants and tress and results global warming. 

6. Natural Causes

Avalanches, tidal waves, quakes, wildfires and storms are natural causes which can severe damage to the animals and plants squads in the surroundings. It can also become a ridiculous moment when is can lead to long term damage to the earth and others as well. Humans can't be blamed a 100% for this issue as the earth itself has its own ecological issues but a small portion of care-free attitudes of humans leads to huge damages as mentioned above. 

EFFECTS ON ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION

1. Impact on Human Health

Well, toxic released to the air are dangerous to the human respiratory system as it contains harmful substances. Diseases such as pneumonia and asthma are the most serious issues that causes death due to indirect affects of air pollution.

2. Loss of Biodiversity

Biodiversity is important of preserving balance of the ecosystem in the form of reducing pollution, restore nutrients, preserving water sources and balancing climate. Global warming, over population, deforestation and pollution are some of the major cause for loss of biodiversity. 

3. Ozone Layer Depletion

Ozone layer is what protects the earth from harmful ultraviolet rays. The cause of ozone layer depletion is the presence of hydro chlorofluorocarbons into the air and void harmful radiation back to the earth. 

4. Lost of Tourism Industry

Environmental damages such as loos of biodiversity, loss of green field, excessive air and water pollution and not forgetting landfills can be a huge cut off for most tourist. 

5. Economic Impact

Bringing the landscape, cleaning up landfills and conservation of endangered species back to its shape is a huge cost for the country. Where it leads to great impact on the economic due to environmental degradation and loss of tourism is also a major disadvantage for the country to experience economic conflict. 

In conclusion, as we have seen what human activities could make a huge damage on our country and the environment. Therefore, we can start preserving our environment from degradation and prevent our country from economic crisis. Hope these information could result a better outcome to all the effects on our environment. Lets start saving our environment as green is the prime color of the world, ad that form which its loveliness arises.
